This development consists of 10 two-bedroom and three-bedroom homes at Coniston Road, including a fully compliant wheelchair house, all for social rent in Kings Langley.
The homes in this new social housing development back onto open fields and are designed to complement the neighbouring existing properties to the side. They are providing much-needed housing for social rent to applicants on Dacorum’s housing register.
Councillor Alan Anderson said
“…this is a development we are particularly proud of as these are the first new council homes to be built in our Kings Langley ward since the early 1980s.“
The new homes are energy efficient, featuring solar panels and increased insulation to the fabric above the current building regulation requirements. In addition, each home has an electric vehicle charging point and private parking space.
The new homes are definitely one of the higher-spec social housing sites in the area. Bugler Homes have built upon their relationship with HBC over the years and the working relationship has grown and prospered in the county. Whilst the building and spec is not unique the finish has been completed to high quality standards.
Cllr Margaret Griffiths, Portfolio Holder for Housing Services at Dacorum Borough Council, said
“These new homes are a fantastic example of how we continue to build for the future, as this new development will provide many families with a safe and secure home. The energy efficiency measures that have been included will also help keep bills down to support tenants with the increased cost of living.”
This project not only adhered to the building regulations but also exceeded the requirements in Approved Document Part M. The newly constructed homes were designed to meet future-proofing standards, ensuring longevity and adaptability. Emphasizing energy efficiency, the houses incorporated Voltech solar panels to harness renewable energy sources, while their insulation surpasses the prevailing building regulation standards, enhancing thermal performance.
Moreover, recognizing the growing demand for electric vehicles, each home was equipped with an electric vehicle charging point. Bugler Homes’ commitment to environmental consciousness and residents’ needs exemplifies our dedication to providing this high-quality social housing project.
