Donation to Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Donation to Cystic Fibrosis Trust Header

Connor, one of our apprentice building control surveyors, highlighted his personal experiences with Cystic Fibrosis during his application presentation. It was memorable, very well-researched, and well delivered but incredibly sad that this horrible condition had caused a member of Connor’s family to succumb to it so early in his life. So we were only too pleased to raise a donation following our Christmas raffle and auction, Abbie Sampson, on behalf of Cystic Fibrosis, thanked the Hertfordshire Building Control team for raising their charity donation.

Firstly, I just wanted to thank you ever so much for your wonderful and generous contribution to the charity. Supporting the Trust in this way is greatly appreciated, as we receive no government funding. So all money raised helps us to continue investing in ground-breaking research, life-changing campaigns and providing services to all those affected by cystic fibrosis. Please do pass on a big thank you to everyone involved in the fundraising! With a special thank you to Connor who raised awareness of cystic fibrosis in memory of his cousin.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is one of the UK’s most common life-threatening inherited diseases. A defective gene causes cystic fibrosis. As a result, the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, become clogged with thick sticky mucus. This results in chronic infections and inflammation in the lungs and difficulty digesting food. Around 10,800 people in the UK have cystic fibrosis; that’s 1 in every 2,500 babies born!
